A gourmet food company has cooked up a fortune from a door-to-door delivery service dishing up a recipe from a top chef - and exactly the right ingredients to prepare it.

Food lovers in Austria sign up to the website KochAbo.at to chose from a series of mouth-watering dishes they can prepare in their own kitchens.

Each package contains precisely the correct amount of each ingredient for two, four, six or eight portions.

Project manager Michael Strock: "People think ready meals from supermarkets are a bit unhealthy but they like the convenience."

"This way we do all their shopping for them. Then we weight it, measure it and write them the recipe and off they go," he added.

And at around 3GBP per person - the service has been a hit right from the start.
